KEY SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTIONS

Breast Implant Safety and BIA-ALCL Co-author, 2022 Practice Recommendation Updates from the World Consensus Conference on BIA-ALCL (Aesthetic Surgery Journal, 2022; 83+ citations). Research cited in the ANSM (France) decree banning macrotextured breast implants (April 2019). Research cited in RIVM report (Netherlands) and SCHEER opinion (European Commission). Classification of implant surfaces ("Atlan classification") used internationally. First molecular evidence that surface texturization modulates ECM and inflammatory gene expression (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2020).

Hidradenitis Suppurativa and Skin Microbiome Discovery of Porphyromonas asaccharolytica as a pathogenic skin colonizer disrupting immune defenses in hidradenitis suppurativa (EMBO Molecular Medicine, 2026; IF ~12). Collaboration with Institut Pasteur / INSERM. Systematic review and meta-analysis on perforator flap reconstruction (J Clinical Medicine, 2022). Skin barrier crossing mechanism characterization (Experimental Dermatology, 2025).

Adipose Tissue Biology and Stem Cells Lidocaine and adrenaline effects on human adipose stem cells (Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 2013; 91 citations). PDGFRα-mediated adipocyte progenitor switch and obesity-induced fibrosis (Cell Metabolism, 2017; IF ~25). HIV integrase inhibitors and adipose tissue dysfunction (Clinical Infectious Diseases, 2020; IF ~11). Breast adipocyte secretome and cancer cell invasiveness (Cancers, 2019; Clinical and Translational Oncology, 2023).

Gender-Affirming Surgery One of the largest French academic series (10-year retrospective). 3D custom-made surgical guides for facial feminization (Aesthetic Surgery Journal, 2021). FACE-Q validation for upper facial gender-affirming surgery (Int J Oral Maxillofac Surg, 2023; 16 citations). Vaginoplasty and sexual health outcomes (J Sexual Medicine, 2025; JPRAS, 2023).

Lymphatic Disease Most-cited publication: high-resolution ultrasonography to differentiate lipoedema from lymphoedema (British Journal of Dermatology, 2010; 166 citations). Book chapter on lymphoedema surgery. Robot-assisted lymphatic microsurgery program.
