Alexandre Mendonça Munhoz, MD, PhD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon and Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo (FMUSP), Brazil. He specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, with particular expertise in implant-based breast surgery, revision procedures, hybrid breast augmentation, fat grafting, and aesthetic breast surgeries. Dr. Munhoz has authored more than 230 peer-reviewed scientific publications, including over 150 PubMed-indexed articles. His work has received more than 3,900 citations, with a Google Scholar h-index of 34. He has been recognized among the Stanford/Elsevier World's Top 2% for the last 5 years, most-Cited Scientists, reflecting the international impact of his scientific contributions. Dr. Munhoz serves as an international reviewer and editorial consultant for leading plastic surgery journals, including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS), JPRAS, ASJ and APS journals and is a frequent invited speaker at major international scientific meetings. His research focuses on breast implant technology, surgical innovation, evidence-based clinical algorithms, patient-reported outcomes, and complex revision breast surgery. He is also an international Key Opinion Leader and Medical Advisory Board member for Establishment Labs (Motiva), contributing to clinical research, innovation, and surgical education worldwide.
