Abstract Guidelines

  • Abstracts can be submitted as a presentation, rapid fire (short presentation), poster (digital poster exhibition only) or video (digital poster exhibition only).

  • If the abstract is submitted as a presentation but is accepted by the jury as a poster (digital poster exhibition only), the author decides at the time of submission whether to present the abstract as a poster or to withdraw it.

  • Each author can submit a maximum of two abstracts. If both abstracts successfully pass the review process and are selected for inclusion in the final program, the first author must decide which abstract they will personally present. The second abstract will then be automatically assigned to the next available co-author for presentation. Any attempts to submit more than two abstracts by the same first author will be rejected.

  • Abstracts can only be submitted online. Abstracts submitted by e-mail will not be accepted.

  • The responsibility for the abstract content lies with the submitting author and the supervisors!
Accepted abstracts will be published unread and uncorrected, though after proofreading by the author

  • The address of the submitting authors are - if the abstracts are accepted - intended for publication. We accept no liability for incomplete or incorrect address details.

  • Abstracts can only be written or submitted in English.

  • The title and the text must not be entered in capital letters.

  • The content of the abstract (also for videos) must be structured as follows: Background / Methods / Results / Conclusion

  • The number of characters is limited to 2,400 (including spaces, excluding title, authors’ names and institutions). In the event of non-compliance, the jury may note “rejected - does not meet the submission criteria” on the form.

  • Tables and graphics, which are necessary for an objective evaluation of your abstract, must be submitted and attached as PDF files.

  • No special formatting (underlining, bold print, slanted print, superscript or subscript) may be used. Instead of the symbols > <, please type >= or <= and for superscripts use the notation 10^2. Avoid complex mathematical formulas as well as Greek letters and special symbols. For example, use “IFN-g” or “IFN-gamma” instead of “IFN-γ”.

  • The submitting author will be notified by email whether his abstract has been accepted or not. The acceptance of the abstract results in a binding registration of the presenting author for the congress within 2 weeks.
